Saint George
Looking like it was afloat in the Bay of Kotor is the 12th century St George Benedictine Monastery. No visitors are allowed here so we could only see it from our boat giving it an air of shrouded mystery. Locals also call this the “Island of the dead” which only added to its aura.
Beautiful image for “afloat.” I love islands like this with little monasteries or castles on them. It does seem mysterious, especially as you’re not allowed to visit. 🙂
Oh yes. There’s also a cemetery there hence the nickname. I don’t know whether its still inhabited or not but it certainly fills it with intrigue when some locals say there are treasures hidden on the island!
