Aliens have landed in my garden!

The other day, I walked out along one side of our house which has a narrow strip and stumbled across these alien-looking like plants all along the edge! They were everywhere, popping up above the other greenery with their tongues hanging out – looking like aliens have landed in my garden! (Hence my title for this short post).

This area is not very tidy as you can tell. Over many months, I have pretty much left it alone or if you like employed the landscaping theme “survival of the hardiest” . If you have read my earlier posts, you will well know I am no garden person. I leave a lot of it untouched. In fact, I am just surprised this area has not been completely covered with weeds. So, I don’t really know what it is other than they look absolutely Jurassic! I don’t even remember seeing them before but that could be just me. If anyone, has any ideas, I’ll be more than happy to be educated. They are actually only a couple of inches high so the photo probably over-exaggerates these exotic little plants!
